FAQ
How do I get ready for my session?
I recommend throughly bathing and/or brushing your horse, cleaning tack and basically doing anything you'd do to prepare for a show.
How far in advance should I book my session?
I am currently booking 2 - 4 weeks in advance for the summer. This could change in the future though.
Pick something that shows your personality and style, yet still works for mounted photos. Matching colors with your horse's coat color and/or tack is also a good idea!
I reccommend the same for senior sessions, minus the horse!
What should I wear?
What if I think my barn is ugly?
Even if your barn isn't the equivalent of a five star hotel, there is always places to use as wonderful back drops and locations, and I will find them! I am also open to trailering to an outside location if you wish.
When is a good time to take photos?
Early morning and evening are the best times, especially if you want the golden hour lighting! If these times don't work for you, anytime during the day will do.
Should I work my horse before the session?
I would recommend light lunging to tire out your horse before the session. If your horse is spooky, please take time to get them acclimated to the surroundings, especially if it is a location outside the place they are boarded at.
when should I expect my photos to be delivered?
I work very hard to ensure that your photos are edited to the best of my abilities, and spend a lot of time working on them, so you most likely will receive them within a week for the time being. As I get more clients, the turn around time will increase.
How should I pose for the photos?
I will have ideas for poses, both for horse & rider and senior portraits. If there are any that you would like to try from Instagram, Pinterest, etc, we can definitely do those.
